Hi, all. A friend showed me this site the other day, and I figured I'd post it here. It's often difficult to find differen Bible translations, study materials, or other books in accessible format. This site is for an organization that seems to have a lot of that kind of thing, free of charge. I'm waiting on my own materials from them right now, so I can't say much more, but wanted to put it out here. The group is called Optasia Ministry. I don't know how to make this clickable, so you'd have to copy and paste this into your browser. Or if someone on here does know how to make it clickable, would you mind posting a clickable version on here for me? Hope someone finds this helpful. The link is:

No prob for making that into a link. Even us friendly neighborhood apostates have our uses ...
Hope it's useful to you. And if you go there from your phone, you can make it a home screen icon instead of just a bookmark, so you can put it in your folder with your bible apps.

Jessica, what Bible app do you use? I haven't found a good one yet.

Sister Dawn, this is the king james bible, but the app Gospel Library is a really good and accessible one. It is from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and so has a great deal of other resources. But if none of that interests you, it has the old and new testament, complete with cross-references, footnotes, guide to the scriptures, chronology and a bible dictionary. It's pretty friendly to those without sight and is easy to navigate as long as you get the older one. (There are two versions, and the second, though usable, isn't quite as intuitive.)

Alicia, you were asking Jessica and maybe she wrote you privately, but in case not, here is a suggestion.
The YouVersion app for your iPhone / iPad.
You can download versions of the Bible into it or just use your data connection / wi fi to use the Bibles online.
It has cross referencing, searches, notes sections, etc. Don't take this the wrong way, but I used it a ton on my way to deconversion. That shouldn't dissuade you: The deconverted usually do way more study and cross-checking of things than they ever had before. I only bring that up because we Ex-C's have exercised the tools a lot more than your average, in trying to resolve what was for us cognitive dissonance to stay in "the fold."
I used to take notes in it all the time when going to church with the Wife.
That feature works really quite well with a Braille display and an iOS device.
As I remember things, you don't see the footnotes inserted all over the place in the document when reading, like you do with BibleGateway's site, though that has its own uses for mass searching / indexing.
YouVersion has everything from those reading plans they talk about, to just the text, to annotations, etc.
I've told my daughter about this app, she follows the faith of her mother, but saw the logic I just laid out here, even if she agrees with her mom about my conclusions, and went and downloaded it. She still uses it.
I wouldn't have brought this up, except you are asking a relevant question, and you haven't got many responses. And, the app works fantastically with VoiceOver speech and Braille. It does well at tracking when you want to annotate a passage, or reference something in one text and move to another. You can even get the Strongs and other references in it, I don't remember now how. Anyway all Christian industry standard stuff, but seamlessly packaged.
Just putting this out here, based on your Right to Know.
